Anomaly Story

Outstanding paintings, due to the artist's fame and the work's rarity, may pass through the hands of untold numbers of collectors throughout history. Even when temporarily obscured by personal taste and era-specific preferences, they are bound to reappear thanks to their inherent artistic value. However, the frames that have accompanied these masterpieces and endured the trials of history are often replaced according to their new owners' tastes.

Every viewer who admires a masterpiece will certainly see the frame, but when people eagerly discuss the painting's colors, composition, and meaning, not one word is spared for it. The more fervently people pursue masterpieces, the more they consider the frame, which serves to protect and display, as merely a dispensable decoration, some even believing it diminishes the painting's refined taste.

If freed from the constraints of paintings, could a frame earn even a single word of praise? Perhaps it was this obsession that allowed the frame, considered a mere accessory to masterpieces, to develop the power to protest its unjust treatment, becoming the Anomaly Picture Frame.

Creating bizarre spaces and attacking by splashing paint, Picture Frame's abilities still seem closely related to the paintings it once framed… If Picture Frame has consciousness, such a reality must be quite disheartening for it, right?

Perhaps this very frustration led to Picture Frame's aggressive nature. From another perspective, its motivation for creating Anomalous Realms might be to seek attention, whereas its attacks on those caught in Anomalous Realm might seem more tantrum-like…? For those swept into the Anomalous Realm, marveling at the ever-changing, beautiful "world within paintings," might be percieved as mocking Picture Frame's own mediocrity… provoking its retaliation.

Such behavior sounds somewhat childish, but for an Anomaly with such powerful abilities, even throwing a tantrum can cause immense damage to its surroundings.

Can a frame separated from its painting still be called a "frame"? Or rather, there are things in this world which always serve as accessories, dependent on primary entities, right? Frames used to frame paintings, or even paintings used as house decorations… Do all these things have the potential to become anomalies? Or did Picture Frame happen to possess some special quality?

…Such questions are better left for scholars. Perhaps next time I visit the Gold Apple Collection Hall, I should pay my respects to the display cases…? Would that count as an effective measure to prevent Anomaly formation?

Anomaly Characteristics

· This Anomaly suddenly manifested during a public art exhibition. The specific cause of formation is unknown. Multiple audience members were injured before the Bureau of Anomaly Control arrived.

· In its normal state, it appears as a common picture frame. After transformation, its main body becomes a hexagram-shaped object. The entire hexagram's outer surface is covered with oil paint, with layered textural depths that continuously undulate.

· Bureau of Anomaly Control members responsible for containing this Anomaly described in their reports that it can fly and rotate at low altitudes, possesses aggressive tendencies, sprays paint to attack its surroundings, and changes appearance according to battle conditions.

· This Anomaly appears to have the ability to transcend spatial limitations. When its powers activate, it can independently create a small Anomalous Realm and manifest real elemental scenes within the space. Based on speculation, the Anomaly's abilities may be related to paintings it once framed. Due to audience imagination (and perhaps over-interpretation) of paintings, layered, patchwork, and otherwise unconventional scenes appear in the spaces this Anomaly creates.

· Words of praise for Picture Frame, even if not heartfelt, seem able to pacify the Anomaly and significantly reduce its destructiveness.

Risk Assessment

Due to its ability to trigger Anomalous Realm phenomena and active aggressiveness, Picture Frame poses a considerable threat to civilians accidentally caught in its effects. For Bureau of Anomaly Control professionals and experienced Anomaly Hunters, however, danger is not particularly great. Given that it breached the Bureau of Anomaly Control's Temporary containment measures, its potential risk may be higher, but considering this Anomaly has undergone nullification, no further speculation will be made.

Containment-Guarantee Status

After temporary containment by the Bureau of Anomaly Control resulted in breach, it was jointly nullified by Bureau of Anomaly Control, CSU-2 member Mint, and an Anomaly Hunter.
