Espers: the Neverness to Everness character database
Espers are the playable characters you field three at a time in Neverness to Everness, and this index is where you sort the whole roster by element, combat role, and rarity tier before committing to a party.
About this section
Every Esper carries three identifying traits that shape how it plays: a rarity tier, one of the six elements (Incantation, Chaos, Anima, Cosmos, Psyche, and Lakshana), and a combat role that lands somewhere between dealing damage, supporting allies, and keeping the party alive. Because elements sit on a fixed ring, swapping between adjacent Espers fires Esper Cycle reactions, so the roster reads less like a list of individuals and more like a set of pieces that combine. This index surfaces those traits up front, then routes you to a per-character page for the deeper kit, passive, and Arc weapon details.
Party building here is a three-slot puzzle. Rather than always anchoring your strongest single attacker, the strongest squads stack Espers whose Esper Cycle passives feed the same reaction chain, turning swaps into near-constant elemental triggers. Use the element and role filters to find the two adjacent elements that drive a reaction such as Nova, Scorch, Blossom, or Stain, then fill the last slot with an Esper that amplifies it. The goal is a connected arc of elements that keeps reactions running while your damage, support, and survival roles stay balanced.
From any Esper card you can jump to its detailed profile, see where it lands on the tier list, or drop it straight into the team planner to test a trio before you invest. We keep element, role, and rarity values consistent with the type chart and taxonomy pages so the same vocabulary follows you from this roster into planning tools, no relearning required.
Last updated: 16 June 2026- Filter by element Sort the roster across all six elements, from Incantation and Cosmos to Anima, Chaos, Psyche, and Lakshana, to see which Espers sit adjacent on the cycle ring.
- Filter by combat role Separate Espers by what they do in a fight, whether they anchor damage, deliver buffs, or hold the line on survival, so each party slot earns its place.
- Rarity tiers Group Espers by their rarity tier to compare the headline roster against supporting picks and spot which characters deepen a given element pool.
- Esper Cycle reactions Trace which element pairings ignite Nova, Scorch, Blossom, Remora, Hexed, and Stain duos, plus the Charge and three-element chains that stack two effects at once.
- Per-character pages Open any Esper for its full kit, passive, Arc weapon type, and standout team pairings, the level of detail this index intentionally leaves to detail pages.
