Anomaly Story

Throughout various Anomalous Realms, both Hunters and Bureau personnel have witnessed a cyan bird-like Anomaly. This Anomaly, which we call the Fire Phoenix, exhibits simple behavioral patterns with no intelligence, communication abilities, or aggression. It has virtually no notable characteristics and is even more docile than common birds.

The Fire Phoenix typically appears as a surge Anomaly within other Anomalies' Anomalous Realms, rarely manifesting independently. The Fire Phoenix instinctively seeks stable, secure Anomalous Realms or long-term Esper constructs as habitats. Once separated from these "habitable environments," the Fire Phoenix will naturally undergo Nullification over time. Unlike common birds, The Fire Phoenix does not seem to eat or digest, yet still instinctively avoids danger. Its flight capabilities match those of skilled flying birds. When entering Anomalous Realms or inhabiting Esper constructs, The Fire Phoenix briefly strips off its physical state and enters an energy form. This transformation is also used to evade danger, but when used under non-habitable conditions, it significantly reduces the Fire Phoenix's existence time before natural Nullification.

The Fire Phoenix's instinct to seek Anomalous Realms or Esper constructs can sometimes be used for guidance; but this makes them difficult to contain. Apart from the Bureau of Anomaly Control, civilian conditions suitable for long-term Fire Phoenix habitation are virtually nonexistent; but even with such conditions, maintenance costs are considerable, making the containment of a Fire Phoenix cost-prohibitive.

Some researchers theorize that the Fire Phoenix may be fundamentally connected to Anomaly genesis. If we compare an anomaly's birth in the real world to an explosion, the "ashes" stirred up by its aftershock become the Fire Phoenix. As ashes don't retain heat for long, the Fire Phoenix exists in a constant state of "decay" over time. If it can receive some form of "replenishment" from Anomalous Realms or Esper constructs, the Fire Phoenix can continue existing, which explains why they seek these habitable environments.

Anomaly Characteristics

• Instinctively seeks Anomalous Realms or Esper constructs as habitats.

• Transforms into energy form when entering habitats or evading danger.

Anomaly Nexus

Eliminate its physical form through attack, or allow natural Nullification over time under non-habitable conditions.

Risk Assessment

Harmless.

Containment-Guarantee Status

Due to the demanding conditions required for containing the Fire Phoenix, only the Celaeno Compound currently maintains a limited number in containment; civilian containment is virtually nonexistent.

Currently, this Anomaly cannot be guaranteed.

Containment Measures

Joint containment with Anomalies capable of forming stable, secure Anomalous Realms.
