Your party in Neverness to Everness is three Espers, and a good first team is balanced instead of top-heavy. The easy way to think about it is three jobs: a main damage dealer to carry your clears, an amplifier or support to boost and enable them, and a survival pick to keep everyone standing when an Anomaly hits hard. Covering all three beats cramming in three attackers who crumble the moment something goes wrong.
Element choice is what ties it all together. Since the six elements sit on the Esper Cycle, you want at least two that react with each other, so swapping actually triggers bonus damage instead of just rotating cooldowns. Build the trio around that core pairing, then let the third slot patch your weakest job, which early on is usually survival.
Don’t over-invest before you’ve made up your mind, though. Level the Esper you genuinely enjoy playing, give it a matching Arc, and round the team out with whoever you already own that fills the missing role. The tier list is a handy sanity check, and the team planner lets you sketch and share a line-up before you spend anything building it.
