Level Proliferation

Picture this: a group of expressionless people ascending or descending through the open air. Sounds creepy and funny at the same time, right? But that's exactly what's happening in every elevator out there.

The earliest elevators weren't so enclosed. You could see the gaps between floors from inside them. Only later, for safety or whatever reason, did elevators become fully sealed. The doors open, people walk in, doors close, and when they open again, the world outside has become completely different. For those inside, once the doors close, the outside world becomes a complete unknown.

Most people trust elevators, believing this machine will dutifully deliver them to their destination. A pitiful few, both imaginative and insecure, feel it's dangerous to be locked in an enclosed space and left at the mercy of machinery, fearing the unknown that lies beyond their line of sight. Even after being delivered to the correct floor nine hundred and ninety-nine times, they still fear that on the thousandth ride, when the doors open, they'll be greeted by a terrifying scene…

One such poor wretch's imagination actually came true. When the elevator doors opened before him, lights flickered, eerie sounds persisted, and unfamiliar dark water flowed into the elevator. This was how Level Proliferation was first discovered. Fortunately, this poor wretch already worked in Anomaly-related fields and didn't pass out from the sudden abnormality, so he can still sit here now, writing the profile for this obliging Anomaly.

· An Anomaly that may occur in elevators with enclosed views in buildings of three floors or higher. This Anomaly will not appear in elevators where the outside can be observed from inside, such as transparent sightseeing elevators.

· Manifests as an elevator malfunction where the elevator cannot reach its original floors and has a high probability of connecting to random Anomalous Realms. Additionally, announcements or music occasionally appear out of nowhere inside the elevator.

· Its nature resembles a peculiar elevator malfunction that forcibly connects random elevators to strange floors, while stairs in the same building are completely unaffected.

· Destroying the malfunctioning elevator and replacing it with a new one will eliminate this phenomenon.

· Dismantling the connected Anomalous Realm will cause the elevator to automatically repair itself ahead of schedule, meaning the problem to solve is not the elevator itself, but the other anomalies outside it.

Insist on not using the malfunctioning elevator and taking the stairs for at least one year (exact required varies). The elevator will repair itself back to a normal elevator as if healing on its own.

Hazard level fluctuates depending on the Anomalous Realm the elevator connects to, with an extreme range between upper and lower limits. For ordinary people and Anomaly Hunters without sufficient preparation, the best advice is: just take the stairs until the elevator is fixed. Think of it as exercise, what's wrong with that?
