Cuddly Bear

Kids love cuddling their stuffed animals. Plenty of children grow up with at least one plush, bear-shaped friend. That bear is a diehard partner in crime, right up until the kid matures and the stuffed animal gets left behind in a closet or on a shelf somewhere.

The Phenomenon Anomaly, "Cuddly Bear", only manifests in toys adored by children. Its arrival seems to be visible to children only. Once affected, the toy becomes "alive" in the eyes of a child, while apparently remaining a normal stuffed animal to adults. Despite the name "Cuddly Bear", the toy's actual form depends on the child's preferences, and isn't limited specifically to bears.

From the moment a Cuddly Bear is born, it is dedicated towards one objective—to stay by its owner's side, grow up with them, listen to their troubles, and make sure they never feel alone. As the child grows and gradually becomes more independent, they stop needing their stuffed animal. When that time comes, the Cuddly Bear naturally undergoes nullification and reverts to being an ordinary toy.

Aside from providing emotional support, Cuddly Bears have no other effects. When the time for nullification arrives, most Cuddly Bears accept their fate with grace. However, there are always exceptions. Some refuse to disappear, causing their host toys to gain physical mobility and sentience, thus transforming into Derivative Anomalies. Those who are saddened by the "adults" who no longer need them become "Saddy Teddies", while those who harbor resentment toward the "child" who abandoned them become "Teehee Bears". Driven by grudges and animosity, a Cuddly Bear that has turned into a Derivative Anomaly will actively threaten the target of its anger.

In general, a person will encounter their very own Cuddly Bear once in a lifetime. So far, there are no recorded cases of a new Cuddly Bear manifesting on the same child's toys after the previous one has undergone nullification. However, "maturing" does not seem to be an absolute requirement for Cuddly Bear nullification. In a select few cases, there have been Cuddly Bear owners who, even as adults, still can't part with their Cuddly Bear. In such cases, the Cuddly Bear's duration of existence far exceeds the norm.

· When an ordinary toy is affected by this Anomaly, it moves and acts—within the child's perception—in whatever way the child desires.

· It has no real physical capabilities and only serves to provide emotional value to the child.

As the child matures, and the Cuddly Bear is no longer needed and is gradually forgotten, the Anomaly undergoes nullification—typically resulting in the Cuddly Bear returning to its initial stuffed animal state.
