Anomaly Story
The Corridor of Echoes is an enclosed space materialized from the desire to escape. At first, it was just a vast, boundless sea, inhabited only by Twisties born from the water. Later, a whirlpool appeared at the center, spiraling inward endlessly, as if yearning to draw something in. The outside world answered the whirlpool's call. People who shared the same mindset as the space's creator were drawn here, becoming its new residents. And so this stretch of sea was no longer just a sea, land and rooms for its residents emerged in response.
The Ferrier brings guests to this place, where the streams ultimately converge into the sea. A haven for new arrivals and those who linger, celebrating their arrival.
Countless orbs of light drift across the Corridor's sky and sea, each representing the escapism and obsession cast off by visitors, who can only become part of this place by shedding a piece of their soul.
The colossal statue at the center is the creator's projection. It's silent, accepting, and gives off the stale scent of old wounds left behind by long solitude. Perhaps it was this very loneliness that summoned a crowd of people to keep it company.
This anomaly's entrance can only be activated by a specific kind of person. Those with escapist tendencies, unable to face their present selves, develop the urge to shut themselves away, which makes them eligible to enter this space. In terms of the real world, they vanish briefly before returning unharmed. Outsiders call this phenomenon "spirited away." Though they appear unharmed, those close to the missing person often notice something off: their personalities shifted; things they obsessed over seemed forgotten; problems bothering them just days ago suddenly don't matter. They've lost their pain and their struggles, but they've also lost their hopes and their drive. Indifferent, detached, unbothered, like gentle puppets stripped of their souls. These people are no longer who they once were. They are just shells, or rather, duplicates, of their former selves.
As for whether anyone ever managed to leave with their soul intact… we do not know.
Anomaly Characteristics
- Within a fixed area, the entrance and exit to the space appear at random. After remaining in place for some time, they shift to new locations.
- The anomalies created within feed on the past dreams of visitors. They could become aggressive If the visitors don't have dreams they can feed on.
- The space creates a customized space based on the visitor's past. Most visitors gradually fall into slumbers since they cannot maintain consciousness of their present timeline.
